Monarch Air Group gave away hurricane preparedness kits to families in Broward County & hopes to boost local readiness for seasonal storms.
On Sunday, Sept. 20, Fort Lauderdale hosted the 2026 Emerald Awards, which honored four outstanding local women for their work in healthcare and non-profit organizations (including Big Brothers Big Sisters).
Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida hosted the event and featured Local 10’s Linnie Supall as emcee.
🚧 Accidents
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire on a 60-foot sailboat Sunday at 6 a.m. along the 100 block of Hendricks Isle, and they controlled the blaze in about 30 minutes as a commercial salvage crew kept the vessel afloat; no one was on board and no other property was damaged.

After heavy rain flooded parts of Dania Beach this weekend, Meadowbrook Lakes Condominiums president Tom Heyen urged the city to block the road near Southeast Tenth Street and Second Avenue so that cars don't push floodwater toward homes, recalling severe past damage including a $6 million loss.
