If your child is at a school on Superintendent Howard Hepburn's list, here's where it stands. Hepburn is recommending closing seven elementary schools and three middle schools in 2027-28. The nine-member School Board has the final say and votes Dec. 15. District staff also put a 26-school option on the table for discussion.

Board member Allen Zeman wants 26 closures. He says the 10 on the list are 2.5% of students while enrollment is declining 5.5% a year. Leaders of the Broward Teachers Union disapproved at Wednesday's workshop. William Dandy Middle's campus is expected to become a KIPP Miami site.
